Private, beginner-friendly firearm lessons for McKinney residents — taught in a judgment-free environment where everyone is welcome.
McKinney has grown fast, and a lot of its newer residents come from places where gun ownership wasn’t part of the culture — which means plenty of first-timers, transplants, and new gun owners who want real instruction before they want opinions. That’s the entire lesson: safe handling from zero, at your pace, in a private session with no ego and no politics.
Lessons are held at RifleGear Range in The Colony — about 20–25 minutes from most of McKinney via SH-121 south. From historic downtown, Craig Ranch, or Stonebridge, it’s a straight tollway run.
The first stretch happens off the firing line: how the firearm actually works, the safety rules that make everything else possible, and what to expect from noise and recoil. Then hands-on — grip, stance, sight picture, first controlled shots on paper. Sessions run 60–120 minutes and everything is included: loaner handgun, ammo, targets, eye and ear protection, range fees.
