FAQ

New to all this? Good — you're exactly who we're here for. Here's what people ask us most.

WHAT IS LIBERTY FOR ALL (L4A) TRAINING?

Liberty for All (L4A) Training is a Texas-based firearm instruction company dedicated to helping individuals build confidence, safety, and skill with firearms — in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. We specialize in private shooting lessons, small group sessions, and personalized coaching, with a mission to make firearm education safe, approachable, and inclusive for everyone.

WHAT KINDS OF FIREARM TRAINING DO YOU OFFER?

We offer a range of hands-on firearm training lessons for beginners and experienced shooters alike, including:
• Firearm safety and handling fundamentals
• Marksmanship and accuracy improvement
• Defensive mindset and situational awareness
• Confidence-building for new shooters
• Range etiquette and responsible gun ownership

Each session is customized to your goals — whether you’re learning to shoot for the first time or refining your existing skills.

HOW DO I BOOK A LESSON?

Head to our Book a Lesson page to view available packages and schedule your session. If you have questions or need assistance, give us a call at 214-316-1513 — we're happy to help.

WHERE DO LIBERTY FOR ALL TRAINING CO.'S LESSONS TAKE PLACE?

The range is located just north of Dallas, convenient for students from Dallas, Richardson, Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Lewisville, and the greater DFW area.

DO I NEED PRIOR SHOOTING EXPERIENCE?

Not at all!

Our beginner firearm training is designed specifically for those who have never held or fired a gun before.

If you already have experience, we’ll adjust the lesson to your comfort level, goals, and specific firearm platform.

Our approach is simple: meet you where you are, build confidence step-by-step, and make every lesson positive and safe.

DO I NEED TO HAVE MY OWN GUN TO TAKE A LESSON?

No — you don’t need to own a firearm to train with us.

We provide loaner handguns and rifles in the most common calibers so you can find what fits you best before making a purchase.

Many new shooters enjoy trying several firearm types before deciding what feels comfortable in terms of size, ergonomics, recoil, and capacity.

If you do own a firearm, we encourage you to bring it so we can help you become proficient and confident with your specific setup.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY SHOOTING LESSON?

Bring:
• A valid, government-issued photo ID
• Comfortable, range-appropriate clothing
(closed-toe shoes required)
Eye and ear protection (we can provide these if needed)
• A positive attitude and a safety-first mindset

All ammunition, targets, and range fees are included in your lesson cost. Some students also bring a small notebook for jotting down takeaways, but that’s optional. Full details and instructions will be included in your booking confirmation email.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A LESSON?

Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose or low-cut clothing. Hot brass casings eject from the firearm during firing, and exposed skin or loose fabric increases the chance of a burn. A baseball cap or brimmed hat is also recommended to keep casings away from your face. Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing is fine — you don't need anything special beyond that.

HOW DO YOU ENSURE SAFETY DURING TRAINING?

Safety is the foundation of everything we do.

Every lesson begins with a range safety briefing, including protective gear requirements, muzzle discipline, and range commands.

If at any time a student acts unsafely or ignores instructions from the instructor or Range Safety Officer (RSO), the session will be immediately terminated for safety reasons, and no refund will be issued.

Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves with greater confidence and an unshakable commitment to responsible firearm handling.

WHAT'S YOUR TYPICAL CLIENTELE LIKE?

We proudly train people from all walks of life — from first-time shooters to seasoned firearm owners.

L4A was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to safe, responsible, and inclusive gun education.

We are especially passionate about welcoming communities that may not always feel comfortable in traditional firearms spaces, including women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and anyone new to the world of shooting.

DO I NEED TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN TO TAKE A SHOOTING LESSON?

RifleGear Range requires one of the following forms of ID:
• A valid U.S. Driver License
• A valid License to Carry (LTC/CHL)
• A valid state-issued ID card

Legal permanent residents (Green Card holders) may also participate if they bring their physical Green Card.

Generally, international visitors are not permitted to shoot unless they have a federally issued hunting license or are in the U.S. for an approved sporting or training purpose.

If you’re unsure about eligibility, please contact us at info@L4Atraining.com before booking.

HOW MUCH DOES FIREARM TRAINING COST?

Pricing varies depending on lesson length and group size. You can view current training packages and rates on our Booking page.

All sessions include range fees, ammunition, and protective equipment — no hidden costs. The price you see at Checkout is all you'll pay for the entire experience.

CAN I BOOK WITH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?

Absolutely! We love training couples, friends, and families who want to learn together.

Due to range safety policies, most group lessons are limited to a maximum of three students per session — but if you have a group larger than that, please contact us directly to see how we can best meet your needs.

You can explore current options and availability for Private Group Lessons on our Booking page.

CAN I BOOK A LARGE GROUP LESSON?

Large group lessons (4+ shooters) are possible, but rates are variable depending on group size, instruction requested, and more. Reach out to info@l4atraining.com and let's see how we can work together!

WHAT IF I LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE DALLAS-FT. WORTH AREA?

Depending on the specifics, we'd be happy to bring our instruction to you. Reach out to info@l4atraining.com and let's see how we can work together!

WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAINING?

We follow the policies of our home range, RifleGear: children between the ages of 8 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult, and no children under the age of 8 are permitted on the range. Safety is always our top priority — so depending on your child's size and capabilities, if they'll be training live-fire (with live ammunition), the instructor may need to provide hands-on physical guidance, such as positioning hands, stabilizing grip, or redirecting the muzzle, to ensure safe firearm handling at all times.

WHAT ARE YOUR POLICIES ON CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING?

All bookings are final and non-refundable. Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no additional charge. Changes made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time — or no-shows — will result in forfeiture of the booking. L4A reserves the right to make limited, case-by-case exceptions at its sole discretion in the event of verifiable emergencies.

Please also note: safety is paramount. All participants are required to follow L4A instructor guidance, range rules, and all applicable safety protocols at all times. The instructor reserves the right to immediately pause or terminate a session if a client fails to follow safety instructions, engages in unsafe, reckless, or disruptive behavior, appears impaired or otherwise unfit to safely participate, or violates range rules or applicable laws. If a session is terminated due to safety or conduct concerns, the booking will be forfeited with no refund or reschedule provided.

HOW LONG ARE LESSONS?

Lessons range from 60 to 120 minutes depending on the package you book.

DO YOU OFFER TEXAS LTC (LICENSE TO CARRY) COURSES?

Yes! Getting your Texas License to Carry (LTC) — also known as a concealed carry permit or CHL — is a straightforward process, and L4A is here to help every step of the way. We've partnered with Texas Carry Academy to offer the official, Texas DPS-certified online LTC course, approved statewide and available 24/7 from any device.

Whether you're a first-time gun owner or just getting around to getting licensed, visit our LTC page for the full seven-step process — from the online classroom portion all the way to getting your license in the mail.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SHOOTERS WITH PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS OR DISABILITIES?

Absolutely. We work to accommodate everyone, always. If you have specific needs or concerns, reach out to us before your session so we can plan accordingly and make sure you have a safe, comfortable experience.
